Lots of you are probably wondering about why and how I have come up with our lovely face oil product. As well as interested but perhaps wondering about what is in the oil and why it is getting some lovely comments and reviews, so…
Any of you who know me personally will know that I have always had skin issues. You may have even heard me tell the tale about when I had moved house and registered with a new Dr who proclaimed ‘My goodness you are spotty aren’t you!’ In fact he was trying to be helpful, no really!
Anything I tried had short lived success from antibiotics from the Dr, a different contraceptive pill, topical ointments and lotions from a dermatologist.
Last year I was recommended to a fabulous aromatherapist massage practitioner. Having experienced the benefit of this, I decided to explore further. As well as learn more about essential oils, their properties, uses and all that other god stuff.
There has been a lot of research around various base oils and the benefits of them. A number of sources gave some great information about essential oils that are beneficial to skin. So I decided to make a few mixtures and see, because any improvement for me would be helpful.
I was really pleased with the results and dumped my regular commercial moisturisers in the bin. A few people commented on how my skin was looking, this has NEVER happened to me before, so I was thrilled. I shared a few little bottles of the oil I had made with some of the girls that I work with and even made a blend for both my niece and a friend’s son who is 17 and really struggling with his skin. We have now called this ‘The Andre Blend’ simply because it has worked wonders for him and he has asked for refills! Even his friends have asked about it. A little bottle found it’s way to a friend who works as long haul cabin crew too, who proclaimed ‘It actually WORKS!’
It does work and it works because….. (the sort of science bit) The ingredients are natural oils, rosehip and jojoba are the basis and because of their molecular make up they are absorbed into our skin readily. Rosehip oil contains lots of beneficial ‘stuff’ for the skin. Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids which are great for skin health, but our bodies do not reproduce them. These essential fatty acids help to regenerate skin cells, give your skin a really good moisturise. It also contains vitamins A and C as well as all sorts of other antioxidants that have all kinds of benefits including anti ageing, balancing, anti inflamatory and repairing.
Jojoba oil is actually a plant wax and behaves very much like the natural sebum our skin produces. As we age our skin produces less so it is a great natural way to moisturise the skin. For those who suffer with acne and over production of sebum using jojoba oil helps remove excess build up and keep skin balanced. Jojoba doesn’t clog pores even though it is an oil. It can be hard to think that putting an oil on your face can help with clearer, brighter glowing skin. However it works as a protection as well as fights harmful bacteria due to the natural iodine content.
The combination of the oils in our face oil really provide fabulous benefits for your skin’s health. It really is packed with so many vitamins and other goodies, as well as being natural and organic if you were doubtful about trying an oil on your face I hope you’ll give it a try.
Because the ingredients are all natural the risk if being allergic or something irritating your skin is very very low. Indeed a friend was so wary of trying it she was shocked when her sensitive skin did not break out or react.
Everyone also reports how fabulous the scent is. That’s down to the blend of essential oils we use.
